Purpose per Fred Dolder:

to offer balloon pilots, ballooning fans, scientists and Alpinists from all over the world the most exciting experience a balloonist can have, namely to take off in the heart of the Alps
to bring together on an International level, people actively interested in ballooning for mutual exchange of ideas and experiences, and to promote understanding and friendship through ballooning in the High Alps
through ballooning in the High Alps to serve scientific purposes
to promote ballooning in the sense of an Alpinistic discipline
